Didn't I read in the, "2 Coreys" thread about Feldman turning it down because Haim wasn't offered it? |
Thats what they said on the show...Corey Feldman wasn't going to do it because they hadn't asked for Haim...then they were both going to be in it, and now only one of them? It just went backwards! _________________ "Hey you guys!"

I got this via imdb, originally from upcominghorrormovies.com
| Quote: | 9/01/07
Despite Corey Haim set to return, it seems he was unable to legally fly to Canada due to immigration issues. The studio tried to find a way to get him on set, but apparently they were unable to help, as word now is that he's off the project, but Corey Feldman will supposedly remain on board. |

Oh man, but Haim was the protagonist...Feldman was a Frog brother...not the lead. But still, one Corey is better than no Corey! I hope it doesn't suck... _________________ "Hey you guys!"

I gotta agree with d-town Goonie on this one. I will now judge the film more harshly and have lowered expectations. The only movie sequel I liked that lacked the first one's cast that I still love is Predator 2. Kevin Peter Hall did play the Predator but Arnie wasn't in it but thats ok because Predators can go anywhere on our planet and kill, but only the toughest, smartest most exceptional people in our species can defeat them, and that can be a lot of people....does anyone see where I'm going with this ? _________________ "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'!"

Exclusive: Corey Feldman Speaks Out On Haim Dropping ‘Lost Boys’ Sequel
Published by Josh Horowitz on Thursday, September 6, 2007
In all my years, I never thought I’d be caught in the middle of the up and down relationship between Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. But here we are. A couple weeks back I had a lengthy chat with Corey Haim here in NYC while my colleague Shawn Adler spoke with Feldman on the West Coast about his advice for young stars. Clearly the two still have some issues as evidenced by Haim’s comments about his frequent co-star. We reported at length about “The Lost Boys” sequel and Haim’s need to drop out of it.
Now Corey Feldman has reached out to MTV News to release a statement. In it, he defends his decision to continue in the film series without Haim. Read it after the jump:
“I feel that I need to address some of the statements that have been made in reference to Corey Haim’s and my friendship and his participation in ‘Lost Boys 2 - The Tribe.’ I have always considered Corey Haim a brother and dear friend and have always been there for him. Although I am deeply saddened that he has decided not to participate in ‘Lost Boys 2,’ it was strictly his decision. For the record, I was not willing to go forward with any production or deal until I was assured that Corey Haim was onboard. I received confirmation from my representation that Haim had announced that he was officially attached to ‘Lost Boys 2.’
“After starting production in Vancouver, I learned that Haim had chosen to pull out of the project. The reasons for his decisions are his and his alone. Although I am saddened by Haim’s departure, I am enjoying working on the film and am very excited about working with my Frog Brother Jamison Newlander and to carry the torch forward. I am very proud to be part of this highly anticipated sequel for Warner Bros. and feel confident that we are making a film that the fans will welcome as a complimentary addition to the franchise.”

feldman's wife was giving him death threats, telling him to stay away from my husband or you'll be sorry he's mine now. then gave a wicked witch laugh while thunder crashes from behind her and horns come up through her head. ummm sorry got a little carried away. |

Susie Feldman is a total witchy biatch... She totally owns the Feldster. I think he was better off without her, I mean...no offense, but she seems to ruin alot of his fun.
Maybe it's just because I'm not experienced with relationships... _________________ "Hey you guys!"

I am beginning to think this is all a huge publicity stunt.
It doesn't really matter if Haim is in the sequel, nor does it matter if it goes direct to DVD. People haven't talked about the Corey's OR The Lost Boys this much in the past decade!
Mission accomplished! Two careers resurrected AND tons of hype for the sequel.

I have been watching the Lost Boys on DVD the past couple of nights, as well as since it first came out, and I keep thinking, what a great flick....and I know it has a lot to do with the actors, but I think the reason [i]I enjoy it so much is due to a number of things:
1. I love the story, the idea of these vampire teens running a town, doing whatever they like, and bringing other members into their circle but end up eventually getting taken out by two pairs of courageous brothers.
2. The 80's cheese factor. We are all familiar with "the cheese," whether it be the catch phrases, sweet montage, or the clothes...we all love it.
3. The music: Cry little sister has the erie religious creepy thing going on, and they use it at appropriate times throughout the movie to emphasize power, weakness, many different emotions and I love it. And lets not forget about the concert scene near the beginning with the ripped guy playing the sax, no shirt on, chains around his neck....genius!
4. Star is hot, enough said!
5. I also love how they do such a great job of emphasizing people are missing and dying. Whenever they can, from the beginning to right near the end, you can notice "missing" flyers in each scene, especially when they zoom in on the milk carton with Laddie's face on it. When they first pull into Santa Carla the back of the sign reads "murder capitol of the world" and only Michael sees it, I just think they put it in your head a lot that these four boys, and the Laddie the vampire kid from Hell are doing all of this damage alone.
6. The ambiguity of Star: Is she a vampire? Yeah, sure, she flies up to Michael's window but we never see her feed, we never see vampire-like characteristics such as the eyes, or distorted brow, or having bat features on her hands or feet. We assume she is, but there is only one scene to prove it.
7. Grandpa: He knew all along...
I could probably think of more reasons but I am pretty tired. Yes, I think that Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, the power-house duo of the 80's do have a lot to do with why I like it, but they are far from the only reason...does anyone agree with me on this? _________________ "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'!"

Great movie, indeed. And the theme song is class.

SHAZ!!! I totally forgot...Ain't got no home is a great song by a legendary american group "The Band" which my friends and I listen to a lot . I always quiz them on what movie the song is in, and of course, no one would know.
So, I had to work until 1:30am last night and then be back in at 8:30 this morning, and I have to get up at 7:30 and to get coffee and get ready because its about a half an hour commute....but I did notice something a little, "weird," last night in the Lost Boys.
If anyone is familiar with the scene where grandpa gives Sam the stuffed wood chuck, you will notice that there is a picture of possibly Rob Lowe holding his shirt up, whether its Rob or not, what I am wondering is why it isn't a picture of some 80's babe like Bo Derrick from "10"?!? Did Sam hang it there or was grandpa "dressing up the room" as he puts it I am going to look on the internet to see if I can find any pics but I may have to pause the movie later, take a pic, and post it here so ya'll can see what I'm talking about! _________________ "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'!"

I LOVE 'Ain't got no home' It's FAB!
You're right about the Rob Lowe poster ... I found this on Imdb for you:
Sam has a poster of Rob Lowe on the outside of his closet door. On the DVD commentary, Joel Schumacher says that it was there because had recently directed Rob Lowe in St. Elmo's Fire.

Shaz, if you were in America I'd buy you a ginormous diamond and marry you!!! thanks for finding that out for me, I just found it a little....strange about the poster, and I'm sure there are some people out there that don't know the story behind it and wonder why its there too!!! _________________ "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'!"

*blush* Bless your heart!!
I've just been reading about it ... I never really thought anything of it before, although tbh I haven't seen the movie for yonks!
Lots of people think there's is some other message to it, what with Sam singing in the bath like a girl. Although some also think maybe his Grandfather probably put it up for him thinking he needed a "manlier role model while living with a single mom". I also read that the Director said that after directing Rob Lowe in St. Elmo's Fire, he saw that poster of Rob somewhere, thought it was "shameless" of him, bought it, and just put it there for kicks. So I guess no-one knows for sure.
There's a bit about it here too: http://www.movieweb.com/dvd/news/27/4627.php where the Corey's get asked about it.
Hope you're not too worn-out after your busy, busy work. I'm a bit confused about the time difference so not sure if you're just off out again to do some more!!

Well here in NY its 10:30 am, I get done at 5pm, then I have some microbiology studying to do but my goal is to have that done and finish watching the Lost Boys where I started last night, I got a bottle of red wine for it, not as Fancy as David's but it will help me to relax...its been a long week.
This is a total non-sequitur but I am applying to this internship for next summer, I am praying I get it so keep your fingers crossed...I will have some great new pics if I do!!!

Woah...After reading those previous posts, I felt as if I were a LOST boy...lol
Anyway, the original is pure greatness, and 00Negative already said what I had to say...so me repeating it would just be obnoxious.
But I wanted to add that Alex Winter (Bill S. Preston from the BILL AND TED movies) was one of my favorite vampires. It sucks he didn't get alot of screentime or lines before dying...
Whatever Feldman does in this next movie, it better be as a Frog Brother and not some random adult... _________________ "Hey you guys!"

Yes I agree! A bit silly otherwise.

Feldman is supposed to be the "go-to guy" when the new kids need help fighting the new tribe, so I have read. I agree about Alex, every time I see him in Lost Boys I have to disassociate his role form Bill and Ted's...hes a good vamp though _________________ "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'!"

Thanks, Shaz. I try my best.
My mother says I have a high IQ. But I don't brag because I have no idea what gave her that impression...
Anyhow, Alex was one of my favorite vampires in the film...he looked like he could be the punk of the group, the wacky party animal. But his role was one of the least significant.
I'd accept Corey as his original character, just as long as he keeps the same attitude and gives off the same vibe. _________________ "Hey you guys!"

Its weird, IMDB still has Haim signed onto the movie, yet all of us Goonies here have read that article, I think Shaz posted it, with Feldman stating that Haim is definately off...maybe IMDB isn't updated
Does anyone know of any other sites, or an official site featuring this movie? _________________ "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'!"
